Story-based Strategy communities of praxis are where we work to blur the edges between our organization and the rest of our movements.

Our work blurs lines between “amateur” and “pro”, cultivating movement relationships modeled on the Just Futures we seek. Our Network Engagement Manager works to support and resource these spaces — building our network members’ capacity to advance their work and #ChangeTheStory.

Advanced Training Alumni

Our Advanced Training experience doesn’t end when the training is over. AT participants join a community of alumni from annual trainings held since 2011 — a decade of changemakers from across our movements for social justice learning and growing our practice together. The Advanced Training

Practitioner Fellowships

Open to Alumni of our Advanced Training, our SBS Practitioner Fellowships provide resources and support for the application of story-based strategy to Fellow’s work and life. Past Fellows have pursued projects as diverse as campaign strategies, digital campaign platforms, magazine launches, and much more. Fellows share their learnings with the SBS community by creating Case Studies, presenting on webinars, and by being active participants of the Alumni Network. Practitioner Fellowships

Sandboxes, HiveMinds, & Ongoing Experimentation

We use virtual and in-person convenings to gather and build community with folks inside and outside our network. Sandboxes bring participants together to learn concrete creative skills, and to prototype narrative interventions in a low-risk, high-support environment. Hive Minds, Story Salons, and other convenings bring together change makers with common struggles, opposition, or geography to deepen their collective narrative analysis, and support each other on narrative strategy and intervention design.
